Does anyone have any experience introducing a new beagle puppy into your beloved old beagle's world???

I found Dixie (an eight week old female beagle) last Monday on the side of the road... abandoned, hungry, sick... I couldn't leave her. I brought her to my vet and and have her being brought back to health there... but it's time to pick her up. I'm really kind of scared to introduce her to Indy (my 13 yr old female beagle). Indy has been the only four legged person in our house since she was a pup and she really isn't other-animal tolerant. In fact, she hates other dogs and you can just forget about cats....

Any suggestions???
